Employment & Training:-
The Directorate of Employment & Training, Government of Gujarat has been in the forefront of implementing various skills-building programmers with the aim of helping people get jobs and this, m-turn facilitates industrial development. At present there are 145 ITIs and 43 employment exchanges functioning under this Directorate. More then 5542 people working under the directorate is imparting training to around 50,540 people per annum and assisting around 1.31 lakh people to get employment through employment exchange.
Industrial training institute plays a vital role in technical manpower requirement for the industry OLPAD is situated at the centre of OLPAD industrial area, Sachin GIDC & jodva industrial area which are a cluster of Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, Pharmaceutical textile etc., industries. Fifty one Special Economy Zones (SEZ) are coming up at various locations in Gujarat which will further accelerate economical and industrial growth of at state. OLPAD ITI is selected as a "PPP MODE"(Public private partnership) sponsored scheme Up gradation of 1396 Govt.ITI through ABGSHIPY ARD, SURAT selected ITI, OLPAD & interest free load sanctioned 2.50 CR.
Industrial Training Institute OLPAD under the Directorate of Employment Training, Gandhinagar
was initially set-up in the year
of 1987 as a - ITI. The institute has covered 1 acres land including Administrative Block & Workshop. The institute is engaged in imparting training in scheme of NCVT, GCVT as well as short term course with the capacity of 220 trainees. The objective of the CTS scheme is to provide semi-skilled/skilled workers to industry by systematic training to school leavers & to reduce unemployment among educated youth by equipping them with suitable skills for industrial employment. The Industrial Training Institute, OLPAD is covered under TAPS (Tribal Area Sub Plan) so 100%section seats are given stipend of Rs.200/- per month to scheduled Tribe candidate. The institute is functioning in two shift commencing from 7:30 A.M to 6:15 with view to provide technically qualified manpower required for various industries and to be helpful to provide employment, the Institute to carrying over different Informal sector short term courses. More over institute is giving spoken English training to all trade trainees.
